Stark, John
(28 ago. 1728, Londonderry, N.H.–8 may. 1822, Manchester, N.H., EE.UU.).

Oficial de ejército de la guerra de independencia estadounidense. Prestó servicios durante la guerra francesa e india con los Rangers de Robert Rogers (1754–59). Durante la guerra de independencia de los Estados Unidos de América combatió en la batalla de Bunker Hill y en Nueva Jersey. Estuvo al mando de la milicia que derrotó a los británicos en la batalla de Bennington, Vt. Ascendió a general de brigada del Ejército continental y ayudó a forzar la rendición británica en la batalla de Saratoga, y luego prestó servicios en Rhode Island. En 1780 formó parte de la corte marcial que condenó al may. John André, quien había sido espía de los británicos. En 1783 ascendió a general de división.
